A multidisciplinary artist and tattooist, James has an unconventional professional path, and one that has led to equally distinctive outcomes. Before immersing himself fully in art he began his career in the design industry. He later transitioned into venture capital, where he worked at the forefront of emerging technologies shaping the boundaries of the creative and cultural industries.
At the core of James’s practice is a deep commitment to using art as a vehicle to empower others. He considers this the privilege of his lifetime. Central to his methodology is a humanistic approach: he takes the time to deeply understand his subjects and collaborators, building meaningful connections that inform and shape each piece. This process allows his work to move beyond aesthetics, becoming a shared experience rooted in trust, dialogue, and authenticity.
His work explores themes of fleeting moments, love, and dance, with the body serving as a living reservoir for emotion and storytelling. His recent work focuses on the evolving nature of love in the technological age, examining how connection, intimacy, and human experience are reshaped in an increasingly digital world.
